Recognised for its dedication and passion to bringing greater change to the care sector, last month KareInn was invited to Westminster Abbey to join the 75th anniversary celebrations of the NHS – reflecting on the incredible milestone for the health service.
There are around 1.6 million patient interactions with NHS services every day. There’s no doubt the impact that our National Health Service has had on millions of lives over the last 75 years. Innovation in healthcare during this time has helped the NHS thrive and become the world leading organisation it is today.
As part of the 75th anniversary celebrations, a new publication has been launched called: ‘NHS 75: Celebrating 75 Years of the National Health Service.’ Featuring the first-person accounts of politicians, patients and health professionals, past and present, the book highlights the people and policies that have shaped our much-loved NHS.
The publication, now available as an eBook, features our Co-Founder John Lanyon and the story behind KareInn’s creation. John discusses his personal experience as a full-time carer for his mother, who had early-onset Alzheimer’s, and for his grandmother, who had vascular dementia.
Having spent 15 years volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Society, John realised how difficult it was for research data to be translated into real-world use. So, he set about building a team to achieve these goals. The result was KareInn. Turn to page 256 to find out more.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the number of people aged 85 years and over is expected to almost double to 3.1 million by 2045. As the aging population continues to rise, prioritising social care will become increasingly more important. Integrating and aligning health and social care will ensure people are given the care and support they deserve.
